Want to watch TV in another room? Already view Sky in your bedroom? Go one step further and have full remote control of any infra red equipment in any room of your house.
How it works
The TV Link system works via a structured cable system, using coaxial wiring to distribute an infra red signal from a source in one room to another location, where a Magic Eye is fitted to receive the remote commands. The Magic Eye requires a source of power which in most cases is from a Sky digibox, which has a specific output, sending a 9 volt DC current through the cable. It is not essential to have a Sky digibox, we can make any infra red source controllable in the same way. Whether its just using your Sky box on a single point in your bedroom or wanting to control your DVD/VCR from any room in your house, the TV Link is for you.
Why not Wireless?
This is a frequently asked question, which is completely understandable, as this would be far easier for both you the customer and us, the installer! However after trialling several different products with varying results, we have found hard wiring to be the most reliable and rewarding way of controlling your desired source remotely. The problems we have found with signal senders range from the signal just not travelling through good old Manx stone walls, to having the picture without the control. As this kind of equipment travels through the air waves, it is very open to all sorts of electrical interference, such as microwaves, hair dryers, kettles and so on. When using the TV Link system, as long as the cable is of a good quality, you get none of these issues.
Can I have it?
As previously explained the TV Link works via a coaxial cable, therefore in order for the system to work a wire must be in place from the source to the desired location(s). In most modern day houses a cabling system is in place, of which we can utilise, saving the need to run cables. It is not uncommon however for the need to run a cable, which more often than not can be done with the minimum of fuss.
